Three weeks of advanced clinic observation in Chengdu University’s Traditional Chinese
Medicine Hospital as well as lectures given by university teachers and professors.
Nov. 21, 22, 23 2015 — Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture System: Martha Lucus, Ph.D.,
L.A.C, Austin, TX
Workshop included lecture on point prescriptions, needling techniques for cosmetic acupuncture
used on the face, neck, and abdomen, information on nutrition, herbs, supplements and skin care.
Group work included supervised practice.
Oct. 15 & 22, Nov. 5 & 12 2015 — AOMA/Training in Herbal Pharmaceutical Techniques:
Dr. Violet Song, Austin, TX
Workshop included lecture on basic herbal chemistry, the pharmacology of herbs, and clinical
support and safety concerns for using herbs. Group work included the techniques of preparing
herbal tinctures and herbal pills.
April 2014-July 2015 — AOMA Student Association: CoPresident, Austin, TX
Duties include facilitating meetings, managing the cabinet, and acting as liaison between
students, administration and faculty for all purposes educational and professional. Liaison
includes, but is not limited to, coordinating in house educational events and increasing student
awareness concerning official school news.

Duties include updating and balancing the budget, fulfill reimbursements, managing the cashbox

Workshop included lecture, group work and discussions on working with clients, acupressure
techniques to ease back pain, constipation, stiffness, fear and anxiety.

WORK EXPERIENCE: SOCIAL WORK
Feb. 2010-July2012 — The Lilith Fund for Reproductive Equity, Austin, TX
Board of Directors, Secretary, Hotline Volunteer. Board duties included specific work on the
Publications, Outreach and Hotline Committees, the Reproductive Equity Awards (event), and
the National Network of Abortion Funds Bowlathon. Secretary duties included recording and
editing monthly meeting minutes. Hotline Volunteer duties (12shifts monthly) included listening and recording 30-40 messages in database, assessing priority of calls, distributing personally chosen amounts of funds, faxing voucher information to clinics.

WORK EXPERIENCE: ANIMALS
Oct. 2009-Feb.2010 — Austin Wildlife Rescue, Austin, TX
General care volunteer. Duties included diet preparation, feeding, and indoor enclosure cleaning
for 20-30 possums, raccoons, song birds, owls, rabbits and an occasional fawn.
Jan.-March 2008 — Riddle’s Elephant Sanctuary, Greenbrier, AR
Keeper’s Assistant for 9 Elephants. Duties included diet preparation, barn and outdoor enclosure
cleaning, assisting the keepers with taking the elephants in and out of the outdoor enclosures.
Assistance with observational research of mother and newborn calf. General maintenance work
on the property.
July-Aug. 2007 —Animal Acres: Farmed Animal Sanctuary, Acton, CA
On-Staff Vet Assistant, General Farm Hand, Office Assistant. Duties included diet preparation,
barn cleaning, medication preparation, and administration. Office work included researching and
creating a database of cruelty-free businesses. Additional docent duties for special events.
Jan.-March 2007 — Franklin Park Zoo (of Zoo New England), Boston, MA
Education Animal Keeper and General Keeper’s Assistant. Duties included diet preparation, cage
cleaning, and working with/rehabilitating animals (including a prehensile tale porcupine, rabbits,
possums, chinchillas, prairie dogs, degus, an owl, a cockatoo, pygmy chickens, snakes, lizards,
frogs and a tarantula.)

Jan.-March2006 — Mildred E. Mathias Botanical Gardens of UCLA, Los Angeles, CA
General Garden Worker. Duties included planting, re-potting, pruning, and specific work in the
greenhouse with seedlings.

Research Assistant. Duties included extensive internet and book research on various plants in
their new Conservatory Garden. Information was then put on a program that will be included in
an online search engine for the Gardens.
Fall 2002 to Spring 2003 — Heal the Bay, Los Angeles, CA
Administrative volunteer. Duties included organizing and running a station for Coastal Cleanup
Day on Venice Beach, running the Heal the Bay tent for Earth Day at Santa Monica Beach,
calling and coordinating volunteers for various events, and general office work.
